Peterborough Mask Theatre present Dogg’s Hamlet, Cahoot’s Macbeth by Tom Stoppard as part of their ShakespYear celebrations for the Bard’s 450th birthday.

This clever romp is two short plays. “The comma that divides Dogg’s Hamlet, Cahoot’s Macbeth also serves to unite two plays which have common elements: the first is hardly a play at all without the second, which cannot be performed without the first.”

In the first, Dogg’s Hamlet, a troupe of English schoolboys speak in a mock language called Dogg. This hilarious language babbles along until the schoolboys present an incredibly funny 15 minute version of Hamlet. The second play, Cahoot’s Macbeth is about a performance of Macbeth staged in a living room during the time at which the Czech government had banned public performance.

A surreal and hilarious evening awaits you, grab this great opportunity to see this early Stoppard work .  Director of Dogg’s Hamlet, Carolyn English says ‘you’ll learn a whole new language in one night!’

Peterborough Mask Theatre present this duo of short plays at the Beehive Community Centre, St Martin’s Street from Wednesday 9th until Saturday 12th April at 7:30pm. Tickets are £10 and are available from the website Follow @mask_theatre for more information.
