CALL FOR VISUAL ARTISTS deadline 18th April 2015

About the festival

Organised by Art Pop-Up and funded through grants and sponsorship, Stamford Arts Festival will run on Saturday 27th June 2015, the same day as the Stamford Festival parade. The aim is to recreate a little of the vibrant, culturally diverse feel of Covent Garden, to encourage more public engagement, presenting a broader range of cultural activities to attract a wider spectrum of the general public. The event is not-for-profit, non-commercial.

  •  Locations will be designated in the town centre for carefully selected visual artists to demonstrate their practice from 10am to 2pm.
  •  Additionally, a tent will be set up on the Recreation Ground where more artists will work through to 5pm (or parade event close).
  •  The type of art practices included will be wide ranging – from painting to 3D work, traditional and contemporary.
  •  A number of free art activities/workshops will also run on the Recreation Ground for the public to participate in (subject to funding).

Artists applying must be able to demonstrate their practice live on the Recreation Ground from 10am to event close (approx. 5pm) on 27/6/15. Artists will be permitted to have a selection of their work available for sale also but the primary aim is to demonstrate a varied and interesting number of visual arts practices, working live on site.
