Did you know that Peterborough has an amazing collection of sculptures?
Within Thorpe Meadows the Peterborough has a selection of 27 pieces of art in the sculpture permanent collection. The collection of sculptures can be found on permanent display all around the City. With works by a wide range of artists including Antony Gormley, Barry Flanagan, Sir Anthony Caro, Lee Grandjean and John Maine. One of the best places to go to see the majority of sculptures is Thorpe Meadows rowing lake in Nene Park.
I took a bike ride around the rowing lake and photographed some of the. You can also add to Vivacity’s website if you have taken any pictures of the sculptures, just email them to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line ‘your pictures’, hopefully as more people add their photographs you will see how the works transform throughout the seasons.
Download a map of the sculpture locations to choose your best route whilst you stroll through the meadows. Sculpture Location Map
